AFD Group Campus: Learning together to transform the world
In a complex and uncertain world, new understandings and solutions emerge through the sharing of knowledge and experience. AFD Group Campus develops its training programs with universities, grandes écoles (elite French higher education institutions), and hybrid collectives, mainly from countries of the Global South.
Learning differently: courses, incubators, conferences, podcasts, and more…
AFD Group Campus offers a wide range of learning formats, including free online courses (MOOCs), tutored online training, blended learning combining online and in-person sessions, classroom-based programs, podcasts, and webinars. These programs strengthen the knowledge, practical skills, and interpersonal skills of people working toward a sustainable future.
To date, nearly 120,000 people have enrolled in one of the 80 training pathways available to our partners and clients on our digital platform and through tailored support programs.
Driving major transitions toward a sustainable world
To support public policies and development projects, the AFD Group Campus training programs aim to deepen understanding of major contemporary challenges. They contribute to individual and collective action toward development models that respect planetary boundaries.
The Campus offer is designed around:
- A global and systemic understanding of sustainable development challenges and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Pathways focused on major transitions: energy, territorial and ecological transitions; social transitions including democracy, social cohesion, sport, culture, health, and education; and economic, financial, and digital transitions.
- A focus on the human drivers of change, including systems thinking, collective intelligence, ethics of care, storytelling, and critical reflection on collective mindsets.
A meeting place for transition actors
The Campus aims to bring together diverse participants, perspectives, and ideas. It is open to partners and clients in countries where AFD Group operates, as well as to French and international development actors and AFD Group staff.
These exchanges feed into joined-up thinking and promote learning about issues related to the various transitions: social, democratic, economic, financial, ecological, energy-related, scientific, and digital.
AFD Group Campus creates numerous meeting spaces to build links between project leaders, managers, intellectuals, artists, decision-makers, sector experts, and the beneficiaries of projects supported by the AFD Group, including entrepreneurs, public officials, and civil society actors. By engaging in dialogue with people who see the world differently, the Campus encourages new ways of thinking and acting to support a shared and sustainable future
Increasing the scope and quality of its network
Across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the French overseas territories, AFD Group Campus supports learning communities, giving participants the opportunity to expand their professional networks, meet inspiring people, and learn more about fields they might not have discovered otherwise.
